The Yellow Boat tells the life story of Benjamin, an extremely talented child with hemophilia. Through a blood transfushion, Benjamin contracts the AIDS virus. The play is an emotional rollercoaster that transports the audience from laughter to tears and back again. Turpin's production added dance to the drama, allowing powerful expressions of Benjamin's emotion. Producing the play at Turpin High School's auditorium created many challenges, not only for lighting, but also for scenery. We decided upon a system of chiffon, LED pars, and paper lanterns to create the world of Benjamin's imagination. This allowed us to create moments of immense glee, hopeless defeat, and overpowering physical and emotional pain.

Le Rue De La Chance was a classical piece set on a small village street where anything can happen. Ladies are courted, men are entranced, and love always prevails.

This Is Not A Test was a piece full of turmoil and "ballerina- ninjas". Their pieceful homeland under attack, these little ladies took matters into their own hands.

HAIR was the product of hippie counter-culture and the sexual revolution of the 1960s. It tells the story of the tribe, a group of politically active, long-haired hippies of the Age of Aquarius living a bohemian life in New York City and fighting against conscription into the Vietnam War.

Aida was a show with a lot of firsts. It was my first venture into moving light technology, advanced consoles, and designing for "air effects". The show was also my first rock musical as well as my first show with more than 200 light cues. It was also the first show to sell out the 987-seat auditorium for 25 years. Last but not least, it was the first show where I knew that this is what I want to do for the rest of my life!
